Tarquinio had served much of his career at the 911th Airlift Wing as a C-130 Hercules pilot and chief of safety, among other positions.

    911th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron Specialist Flight Chief Senior Master Sgt. John A. Szydel formally retired after 35 years of service during a ceremony at the Pittsburgh International Airport Air Reserve Station, Pennsylvania, Oct. 5, 2019. Much of Szydel’s family, many of whom having served in the military themselves, attended his retirement ceremony to show their support.
