The second annual ARC Athena, held at Langley Air Force Base from April 29-30, 2024, brought together over 400 individuals, including military personnel, academics, and government officials, to address women's and family-centric issues within the Air Reserve Component (ARC). Led jointly by the United States Air Force Reserve Command and Air National Guard, the event emphasized collaboration and innovation, drawing attention to nine unique challenges faced by today's Citizen Airmen. With an increased turnout from the Air National Guard, ARC Athena featured presentations, panel discussions, and keynote speakers highlighting policy changes and ongoing challenges in areas such as childcare, maternal fitness, and countering sexual assault. The event underscored the importance of grassroots efforts and persistence in advocating for change, echoing the sentiment that continuous dialogue and collaboration are essential for driving innovation and improving support for Airmen and their families.
