Program boosts community awareness
Col. Craig C. Peters, 911th Airlift Wing commander, spoke at a Pittsburgh Airport Area Chamber of Commerce event hosted at the Robert Morris University Sports Island complex, July 16, 2013. Peters spoke about the Wing’s 50 years in the community and about the base’s potential expansion, strategic location, and community support. In attendance was State Senator Matt Smith (D-Allegheny), representatives from the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR) and the Allegheny County Bar association. Presenters also educated attendees on the Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployment Rights Act of 1994 (USERRA) and the legalities of employing Reservists, veterans, and active duty military personnel.
