Wings Over Pittsburgh 2008

The eighth annual Wings Over Pittsburgh air show hosted by the 911th Airlift Wing, Air Force Reserve is scheduled for May 10 & 11 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. This year, we are commemorating the 60th anniversary of the Air Force Reserve Command, honoring the 60th anniversary of the Berlin Airlift and celebrating the 250th anniversary of the city of Pittsburgh. The two-day event will also incorporate a special salute to mothers on Mother’s Day. This year’s premier performer will be Canadian Forces Snowbirds. This will be the first time the Snowbirds will perform at the Wings Over Pittsburgh air show. They are the only jet team in North America to perform with nine jets flying in close formation. Also a first for Pittsburgh will be a demonstration by the F-22 Raptor , the Air Force’s newest fighter aircraft. Another first will be having two of the three major military jump teams perform at the show.
