Yellow Ribbon event

Senior Master Sgt. Diane Douty (seated left), 911th Airlift Wing drug demand reduction specialist, verifies members’ eligibility for enrollment in the Defense Enrollment Eligibility Reporting System, otherwise known as DEERS, during the Yellow Ribbon pre/post-deployment event held June 11-12 in Virginia Beach, Va. The Yellow Ribbon Program is a Department of Defense-wide effort to support National Guard and Reserve service members and families with information on benefits and referrals before, during, and after deployments. Members will attend an event 90-days prior to deployment, and again upon return at the 30, 60 and 90-day points to help member reintegrate with family and back into civilian life.
