Sen. Casey visits 911th Airlift Wing

U.S. Sen. Robert Casey Jr., D-Scranton, admires hand painted nose art of the Vietnam War Memorial on a C-130H2 aircraft while visiting the 911th Airlift Wing on March 2, 2012. His visit included a walkthrough of the aircraft, a windshield tour of the base and a mission brief. He was escorted by 911th wing leadership in addition to Col. Anthony J. Carrelli, commander, 171st Air Refueling Wing and Cmdr. Tim Flecker, commander, Navy Operational Support Center Pittsburgh. Senator Casey requested the meeting with local military leaders as a result of the Air Force’s recent Force Structure announcement and the Navy’s intent to build their reserve center at the Pittsburgh International Airport Air Reserve Station.
