911th acts of green

Military and civilian members from the 911th Airlift Wing plant a tree in front of building 220 in support of Earth Day, here, May 3, 2012. Earth Day is an annual day on which events are held worldwide to increase alertness and appreciation of the Earth’s natural environment; consequently it serves as a reminder of the Air Force’s commitment to leadership in environmental management. In 2012, the Air Force is renewing their commitment to “Win the War against Waste” and has revived the P2 Program, a pollution prevention plan, with this year’s slogan, “Conserve Today – Secure Tomorrow – Blue Acts of Green.” To remember Earth Day each year, the 911th Airlift Wing plants a tree to symbolize and pledge to environmental stewardship. We encourage everyone to take this opportunity to renew their own commitment to improving the environment in which you work and live. (U.S. Air Force photo by Tech. Sgt. Ralph Van Houtem/ Released)
