Precipitation in the area
A C-130H2 sits on the 911th Airlift Wing ramp, Feb. 4, 2012, as the Pittsburgh region experiences a snowfall of approximately five inches and icy conditions, resulting in the cancellation of an aeromedical orientation flight due to safety concerns. Since the beginning of the new year 50 missions have been flown out of the 911th AW consisting of air drops, night and day tactical flights, assault zone landings, and also several cross country flights. “There have been only 18 cancelations due to weather since the first of the year, which is better than expected since we have had so much bad weather lately,” said Airfield Management. “They really have been putting the iron in the sky despite the bad weather.” (U.S. Air Force photo by Senior Airman Joseph E.
