Earth Day 2013 ceremony adds new life on base

The base held its 18th Annual Tree Planting Ceremony with several members of Wing leadership digging in to help commemorate this year’s ‘Earth Day’ events May 3, 2013 on the Pittsburgh International Airport Air Reserve Station. This year’s trees were planted on the side of Building 220 and marked the beginning of the day’s events, which also included a base clean-up and a water resource management presentation by Conservation Consultants Inc. Those who participated in the ceremony from left to right were: Col. Jeffrey Kozak, 911th Airlift Wing vice commander; Ms. Mia Kubatka, NAF Services; Master Sgt. Stephen Cecil, 911th Operations Support Squadron aircrew flight equipment quality assurance NCO in charge; Capt.
