Members of the Security Forces Squadron conduct active shooter training at the 911th International Airport Air Reserve Station, April 3, 2016. The exercise simulated an active shooter scenario, with wooden blocks used to simulate the sound of gunfire, to test airmen’s’ reactions if an active shooter were in their building. Prior to the exercise, airmen were briefed that in an active shooter scenario, they should run if they have an opportunity to do so, hide if they can’t safely escape, and fight as a last resort.
