The 911th Airlift Wing chapter of the Reserve Officer Association (ROA) meets quarterly to convey information from Headquarters, discusses local community involvement and provides mentorship and comrade for the Pittsburgh Airmen. Supporting the overall mission of the ROA, the "Golden Triangle" chapter works to raise awareness, sponsor events and help at educational days on base and in the local community.

"One of our top goals is to foster a networking environment for the Reservists and create opportunities for the Reservists and the community to work together," said Captain Mark Marsico, Chapter 23 President and 911th Airlift Wing Force Support Officer.

The Golden Triangle chapter is a conduit for Airmen to bring up issues and concerns they are facing and helps to relay those concerns to individuals at the state and national levels. Additionally, the chapter is putting more focus and effort on the families and the base of the 911th Airmen.

"We are also working to establish a program to mentor new officers and identifying ways we can support the base's family days," said Marsico.

The Golden Triangle Chapter and national level Reserve Officer Association has opened its membership to all Airmen, officer and enlisted alike.

"I'd encourage all to join as we work towards improving our base, community, and as a chapter we look out and support our fellow Airmen," said Marsico. "It is also a great way to meet new people."

The ROA provides a voice for Reservists to Congress on issues ranging from manpower and equipment to retirement. For more information contact your local base chapter of the ROA at (412) 474-8770 or check online at www.roa.org.
