As a medical records health administrator with the 911th Aeromedical Staging Squadron, Senior Airman Courtney Schwenk plays a vital part in deploying Airmen to theatres around the globe, making sure all the medical records of personnel on the base are complete and up to date.

Growing up in Erie, Pennsylvania, Swenck  has called the Greentree section of Pittsburgh home for the last three years.

Before joining the Air Force Reserve, she obtained her bachelor's degree from Gannon University majoring in radiological studies while playing softball on an athletic scholarship.

Joining the military was a major goal for Schwenk and after college she made it happen.

"I always wanted to join the military, but out of high school I was offered a soft ball scholarship," she said. "When I graduated from Gannon I was able to realize one of my life long goals by getting into the Air Force and doing something I always wanted to do."

Schwenk enlisted in the Air Force Reserve in 2013, serving her whole time here at the 911th.

"I feel that my role in ASTS is highly important because if people don't know what they need to complete and their records aren't up to date, then they can't deploy and the mission fails," said Schwenk.

Currently Schwenk works at UPMC Mercy as a Radiology Technologist in the trauma unit.

In her down time Schwenk plays for the Westmoreland Highlanders, which is a women's traveling rugby team that plays all year round and as far away as Virginia Beach, Va.
