As everyone sat in their seats and pulled out their notepad and pencils, they looked at the board and the instructor started.

The Lunch and Learn is a program that the 911th Airman and Family Readiness Center has put together to educate, and give resources available to the members of the 911th Airlift Wing that they may not be aware of.

The classes can range from tax preparation to proper nutrition and are based on what the needs of the 911th AW members are.

Robert Ree, Director of the Airman and Family Readiness Center, said each topic the classes cover has a subject matter expert coming in to teach the class. During the January 2020 unit training assembly the class was on better fitness practices. A&FRC brought in Jeff Stearns, an exercise physiologist with the 911th Force Support Squadron, who could teach the class.

“You want someone who knows what they are talking about to get the correct information out there,” said Stearns.

“If we have a subject on Veterans Affairs benefits, we'll have someone from the VA come out and speak on those matters,” said Ree. “They're going to give that information and make sure it’s proper and up to date and current.”

For those who are interested in participating in these classes, they are held on the Saturday of the UTA from 11am to noon in the lower level of the Community Activity Center.
