Icon of Excellence: ceremonial guardsmen inducted into 911 AW Base Honor Guard

Six newly inducted ceremonial guardsmen were inducted into the 911th Airlift Wing base honor guard during a graduation ceremony at the Pittsburgh International Airport Air Reserve Station, Pennsylvania, Dec. 8, 2019. The graduation ceremony was held to recognize the six members who completed more than 100 hours of training on basic protocol, honors and ceremonies to render proper military funeral honors.The graduation ceremony was held to recognize the six members who completed more than 100 hours of training on basic protocol, honors and ceremonies to render proper military funeral honors. The 911th AW base honor guard’s primary mission is to provide military funeral honors for fallen service members and performs an average of more than 400 military funeral ceremonies each year.
