Wing to streamline programs Published Aug. 31, 2009 By Senior Airman Jamie Perry 911 AW/PA PITTSBURGH IAP ARS -- Many Air Force Reserve programs will soon be changing to be more efficient, cost effective, and to help give Airmen a better ability to complete tasks. A new Air Force wide program has been put into place to help achieve these goals; Air Force Smart Operations 21st Century. AFSO21 Consists of multiple team members trained in finding solutions to better programs or processes to benefit the Air Force Reserve and its members. Recently, members of the 911th AFSO21 team met here on July 29, 2009 to formulate a schedule of projects for the entire fiscal year and create the 911th AW AFSO21 vision statement; "Citizen Airmen... Forging Steel Wingmen for America's Sword and Shield." The team determined what areas they wanted to focus on by using the 2008 climate survey to identify what areas people felt there needed to be more improvement. Every project is assigned a "Champion" who is in charge of choosing the appropriate knowledgeable personnel to accomplish the goals of each project to produce more efficient processes, ease of access and better ways to utilize funds. "The processes that we are going to improve help the people achieve what we have charged them to do," said Colonel James P. Hurley, Mission Support Group Commander. Col.
