Civic leader tour offers insight into 920th Rescue Wing pararescue Published April 15, 2010 By Master Sgt. Mark Winklosky A PITTSBURGH IAP ARS -- Members of the Honorary Commander's Association program visit the 920th Rescue Wing, Patrick Air Force Base, Fla., March 25-26. During the first day, member's learn about the Pararescue mission and what it takes to be a pararescuemen, otherwise known as PJ. Pararescuemen are among the most highly trained emergency trauma specialists in the U.S. military. They must maintain an emergency medical technician-paramedic qualification throughout their careers. The HCA is comprised of the 911th Airlift Wing, Air Force Reserve; 171st Air Refueling Wing, Pennsylvania Air National Guard; 316th Expeditionary Sustainment Command, Army Reserve; and the Pittsburgh Airport Area Chamber of Commerce.
