Members attend Women in Aviation Conference

Members of the 911th Airlift Wing attended the 22nd Annual International Women in Aviation Conference February 24-26 at the Grand Sierra Resort in Reno, Nevada.

The purpose of the conference was to provide information to all participants with the tactics and strategies necessary to make a successful aviation career and celebrate the contributions of women in the aviation industry. More than 3,000 women and men from all segments of the aviation industry attended the conference.

"I learned a lot about all aspects of aviation that was very helpful and has inspired me to further pursue my career," said Airman 1st Class Ashley Wiley, 911th Maintenance Squadron.

Women in Aviation International provides; education, networking, mentoring and scholarship opportunities for women pursuing careers in the aviation and aerospace career fields. The conference was comprised of various seminars and workshops, guest speakers and there were various exhibits on display.

"I walked away from the conference feeling a huge backing of women in the aviation field. As the only female in my shop, it was a great opportunity to see how women have paved the way in the field," said Staff Sgt. Tara Greenawalt, 911th MS.
