Thank you to all who participated in our 1st Combined Federal Campaign (CFC) Chili/Soup Cook-Off. Our CFC Coordinator, Ms Amy Ervin, definitely brought the party! With more than 30 attendees and 10 charities, the event was a success. The Chili/Soup was delicious and I know no one went away hungry. Congratulations to our 1st Place Winners; "Soup King" Lt. Col. & Mrs Buzz Bingham. Honorable mention to 2nd Place Winners; Lt. Col. & Mrs Ben Rivera.

A special thanks to all the 911th Airlift Wing cooks and volunteers!

Every fall, the 911th has the opportunity to make a difference by contributing to their local CFC. Annually, our employees contribute over $14,000 to the CFC with more than 50 911th donors and we hope to continue this success with this year's fall campaign. So far, we have contributions exceeding $2,000. Our goal this year is to have 100 percent notification and raise $19,000. Won't you join us to make a difference?

Donations through CFC can be designated to charitable agencies that provide relief for families in need of counseling, meals for hungry children, further work on cures for diseases, comfort for the dying, environmental protection, access to water in the Third World, and better lives and renewed hope for millions of people in our community. CFC also offers federal employees a way to easily and conveniently make a contribution to the good of society as a whole based on their own values.

Remember that no contribution is too small and no act too trivial. I encourage everyone to participate generously in the CFC this year and to donate using payroll deduction. Spreading your gift over a small donation per month or payroll is all it takes.

Please contact CFC Manager, Ms LuAnne Smail, at 474-8171 or any key-worker in your unit for information. The campaign season is Nov. 1 through Dec. 4. All donations must be returned to LuAnne by Dec. 4.
