Harnessing aerial combat capabilities

Tech Sgt. Christine Jones, a photographer from the 4th Combat Camera squadron, March Air Reserve Base, Calif., is harnessed onto an open ramp of a 911th Airlift Wing C-130 H2 during a formation flight training exercise Oct. 18, 2012. Jones’ first-time aerial photography training included shooting still photos from the C-130s ramp and ‘troop’ or side doors, while the unit's 758th Airlift Squadron aircrew members trained on a variety of tactics to include; two-ship formations, run-ins, and low-level routes. The Fall foliage created a picturesque backdrop, which further added to the uniqueness of Jones' first-time Southwestern Pa. experience. In addition to aerial photography training, Jones also captured images of the 911th Airlift Wing's annual barrier and anti-terrorism exercise, which was held earlier in the week. The mission of Combat Camera (COMCAM) is to acquire still and motion imagery in support of classified and unclassified air, sea, and ground military operations.
