Major Jason Price assumed command of the 911th Security Forces Squadron in a ceremony held at the 911th Airlift Wing’s Community Activity Center June 3, 2017.

Prior to his new position at Pittsburgh ARS, Maj Price was stationed at the Pentagon where he was assigned to the Headquarters Air Force Staff and served as the Chief of the Mobilization Branch, working for the Directorate of Current Operations.

As she spoke at the assumption of command, Col. Beena Maharaj, commander of the 911th Mission Support Group said Price is exactly what she was looking for in an SFS squadron commander.

"Picking him was very easy because I also know all the things that he has done has prepared him for this challenge," said Maharaj.

During the ceremony, Price took the opportunity to praise his new team of the great work he saw during the 2017 Wings Over Pittsburgh Open House/ Airshow and share his expectations for his members for both their upcoming deployment and as a whole.

"My overall goal for us is mission success, but at the same time I want us to create an environment where every one of you can grow and have a chance to lead," Price said to his Steel Defenders. "If we can do those things, by all means my expectations are met."
