Base chaplain retires

Lt. Col. William D. Davis, 911th Airlift Wing chaplain, receives the Meritorious Service Medal from 911th AW Commander Col. Craig C. Peters, during his retirement ceremony inside the chapel at the Pittsburgh International Airport Air Reserve Station, Jan 11, 2014. In addition to his traditional duty of overseeing the religious services of the 911th AW, Davis has also performed more than 100 hours of counseling, three weddings, six funerals, five casualty notifications, and one baptism since his 2001 arrival. Davis’s level of devotion and welcoming demeanor will be missed among the Airmen of the 911th AW. (U.S. Air Force photo by Senior Airman Joseph E. Bridge)
