911th Airlift Wing Earth Day Celebrations

PITTSBURGH INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT AIR RESERVE STATION, Pa. --

Members of the 911th Airlift Wing participated in Earth Day Celebrations at the Pittsburgh International Airport Air Reserve Station, Pennsylvania, May 2, 2019. The celebrations consisted of a tree planting ceremony and a Penn State Extension Office master gardener activity. During the tree planting ceremony Dave Oleksa, 911th Mission Support Squadron environmental engineer, spoke about the 911th Airlift Wing’s commitment to environmental sustainability. To showcase that commitment the master gardener presentation later that day was a demonstration on how to make origami decomposable pots with old newspapers.
