Building towards the future

The Joint Services Color Guard showcases the National and Military colors before the official groundbreaking of the Navy Operational Support Center at the 911th Airlift Wing in Pittsburgh, Pa., Oct. 6, 2012. The construction of the 30,600 square foot facility will be completed in early 2014 and will support 290 Navy reservists. The newly built NOSC will receive a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design certification which is intended to promote design and construction practices that increase profitability while reducing the negative environmental impacts of buildings. The LEED also improves the occupant’s health and well-being. (U.S. Air Force photo by Tech. Sgt. Ralph Van Houtem/Released)
