August Citizen Airman Magazine is online Published July 25, 2017 ROBINS AIR FORCE BASE, Ga. -- The August issue of Citizen Airman magazine is available on the web at http://www.citamn.afrc.af.mil/. The cover story highlights how the Air Force Reserve and its units are dealing with the ongoing pilot shortage issue, which is getting worse as a result of commercial airlines stepping up their hiring efforts. Also, the August issue includes a feature story on the impact Citizen Airmen are having on the Aerial Refueling Systems Advisory Group, an organization designed to unite the global aerial refueling community. Other stories focus on Air Force Reserve Command joining forces with Air Mobility Command to develop new and innovative ways to enhance mission effectiveness through saving aircraft fuel and money; a reservist who is completing his 41-year journey from stripes to stars; the implementation of a mobile application that enables aircrew members to record required flight information and access related data in real time; and an engineer whose vision is building bridges — both literally and figuratively.
