Maureen Ryan, Air Force Reserve Command contracted training specialist, briefs 911th Airlift Wing Airmen on the new Defense Travel System, Sept. 9, 2012. The DTS will be a new way for reservists on base to submit travel vouchers for reimbursement of expenses incurred while on duty. The system will create a smoother and more user-friendly process for Airmen, eliminating the need for paper. Use of the DTS will become effective Oct. 1, 2012. Honoring the fallen of 9/11

Members of the 911th Airlift Wing Honor Guard stand ready to raise the American Flag to half-staff, during a 9/11 memorial ceremony held on base, Sept. 11, 2012. Formations of military and civilian personnel filled the street in front of the Headquarters building, where the ceremony was held. Col. Craig C. Peters, 911th Airlift Wing commander, delivered a few remarks at the beginning of the ceremony before turning it over to Chaplain (Maj.) Brad Davis, who led the group in prayer, which was then followed by a brief moment of silence. The moment of silence coincided with the time the first plane hit the World Trade Center and throughout the morning the base conducted four other moments of silence, each one held at the time the other planes crashed. A 911th Airlift Wing Base Honor Guard Airman carries the remains of a fallen soldier during a military burial held at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies in Cecil Township, Pa, Aug. 23, 2012. The remains of 15 veterans came home at last at the Western Pennsylvania national cemetery after the hard work of area veterans, funeral directors and the Missing In America Project. Recognizing civilian excellence

Col. Craig Peters, 911th Airlift Wing commander, pins on the Special Award for Exemplary Civilian Service to Anti-terrorism Officer, Justin Briley during the civilian commander’s call held Aug. 23, 2012. Briley displayed exceptional initiative and professionalism by developing and implementing a fully successful installation antiterrorism program as well as developed and implemented a model random antiterrorism measures program. He also compiled an active shooter awareness brief that was distributed command-wide and he effectively managed the AT Level l Awareness Training Compliance Program. He also assisted other Air Force Reserve Command installation ATOs in developing their AT programs as well. Col.
