Master Sgt. Wayne Barna, a loadmaster attached to the 911th Airlift Wing, 758th Airlift Squadron, looks out the cargo door of a C-130 Hercules, moments after a heavy equipment platform weighing more than 3,000 pounds was dropped out of the aircraft above its designated drop zone in Cadiz, Ohio, July 14, 2012. The American flag proudly flies in front of the 911th Airlift Wing’s C-130’s, June 14, 2012. The flag has been flown since the 4th of July in the year 1776. On that day, the Declaration of Independence was approved by the Continental Congress, setting the 13 colonies on the road to freedom as a sovereign nation. As always, this great American holiday will be marked by patriotic parades, amazing fireworks and backyard barbecues across the country. The 911th Airlift Wing Safety Office hosts a motorcycle safety course, here, June 29, 2012. This event is open to military and civilian base personnel, but also to family members who operate a motorcycle. Beginner and experienced motorcyclists learn about the proper foot-and clothing wear, the requirements of their helmet, goggles and face shield, and the necessity of a reflective safety vest, but it also stresses the importance of maintaining nonstop alertness due to the rider’s vulnerability within traffic. This class is mandatory for all motorcycle operators who plan to ride their bike on base. (U.S. Air Force photo by Airman 1st Class Justyne Obeldobel/Released)
