30-day notice

Col. Craig C. The 11-day furlough will have a negative impact on the 300+ civilian workforce and disrupt day-to-day operations, however, the commander's intent is to minimize those disruptions by not closing the base completely one day a week, but allow supervisors to work with employees on reaching mutually acceptable common ground between individual morale and meeting mission requirements. Following the briefing supervisors were given their workforce's 30-day intent to furlough notification, which were then distributed to employees, who signed and acknowledge receipt, making the initial phase of the furlough process. Like father, like son

Airman 1st Class Peters is projected to leave for Basic Military Training School at Lackland Air Force Base, Texas, in early July. After eight and a half weeks of BMTS, he will remain at Lackland to attend the fundamental school for loadmasters. From there, he will be sent to technical school at Altus AFB, Okla., for loadmaster training on the C-5 Galaxy. CCAF degree now mandatory for promotion

Vigilance on base’s front lines
