PITTSBURGH INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT AIR RESERVE STATION, Pa. -- During the April unit training assembly, three members of the 612th Squadron with the Royal Air Force Medical Reserves, based in Leuchar’s Station, Scotland, visited their Pittsburgh counterparts, the 911th Aeromedical Evacuation Squadron.
The purpose of this visit was to give the Scottish members a look at what a typical 911th Airlift Wing unit training assembly was like, as well as to get to know members of the 911th AES. Maj Adam Foster, training officer with the 911th AES, said this visit allowed the squadrons to lay ground work for future combined training opportunities.
“We are looking forward to an opportunity to fly a training mission to Scotland later this summer, to further build this relationship,” said Foster.
This followed a visit from four members of the 911th AES to the 612th Squadron August 2016, where members of the 911th got to experience life as a reservist in Scotland.
