Col. John F. Robinson, commander of the 911th Airlift Wing, Marjorie Schurr, chief of the 911th AW Public Affairs, Charlie Krisfalusi, real property maintenance manager with EAST Operations and Maintenance, and Allison Yeckel, environmental engineer with the 911th Civil Engineering, participate in a tree planting ceremony at the Pittsburgh International Airport Air Reserve Station, Pennsylvania, April 27, 2021.

Every year the 911th AW celebrates Earth Day with this ceremony to symbolize the Air Force Reserve’s commitment to environmental sustainability. This year the focus is on mission sustainment and the motto is “Protect the Earth – Sustain the Mission”.

The tree planting ceremony had to be moved from the actual Earth Day which was on April 22, 2021, due to snow.
