The 911 Airlift Wing Retiree Activities Office is now open for business. The office, located in building 316 room 100, is open Tuesday and Thursday from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

The RAO is a program focused toward helping retirees with their military benefits by offering help and advice with Tricare, survivor benefits, obtaining DD Form 214, and holding activities for the retirees and their families, along with other various services.

Retired Senior Master Sgt. John Casey, and retired Master Sgt. Fred Cofini, are the appointed Directors of the RAO.

"We are expecting to have a good turnout for all of our events and plan to have some great food, a lot of fun, and some special guests along the way," said Mr. Cofini.

The RAO has four different events planned throughout 2008. The first, a picnic lunch, was held July 9, 2008, at the 911th Airlift Wing Pavilion. The second event is a Retiree Recognition Lunch, Aug. 23, from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the 911th Airlift Wing's Club Cargo Bay. This lunch is being held to commemorate Retiree Appreciation Day. Many representatives will be in attendance such as, The National Cemetery of the Alleghenies and Tricare, as well as others to help provide information on the various services available to retirees. Then on Sept. 20, 2008, a Retiree's Recognition Dinner will be held at the Holiday Inn in Coraopolis, Pa. featuring dinner, dancing and special guests. Finally on December 4, 2008, a Christmas Luncheon will be held at the Golden Corral in Coraopolis, Pa. for retirees and their families.

If you have any questions concerning retirement benefits, need advice on setting up Tricare, or interested in helping, contact the RAO at 412-474-8816.
