If you are someone who enjoys the outdoors then you know summertime is meant for fishing, camping, hiking and picnics. With the warm weather of July and August upon us, now is a great time to get out and enjoy the open air. The 911th Airlift Wing Outdoor
Recreation Program is here to make access to the outdoors easy and affordable.

"We have everything outdoors to rent," said John Stubber, a recreation aide with the 911th Airlift Wing Fitness Center. "We even have sports equipment available for
rent." Some of the items include: boats, campers, canoes, tents, backpacks, sleeping bags, golf clubs, volleyball and net set and tennis racquets. For an all inclusive list, visit the 911th Fitness Center or call 412-474-8245.

If you are a Traditional Reservist, a family member of a TR or a civilian working on base, you are eligible to rent the equipment, whether it's a canoe for a weekend of fishing or a tent and a sleeping bag to go camping for a week. Why not rent the tow-behind grill and
showcase your grilling skills by hosting a rib cookout?

Renting equipment from Outdoor Recreation is not only convenient; it allows your vacation or your weekend getaway to be affordable.

"It's a great program," said Master Sgt. Joseph Snyder, the Force Protection Manager with the 911th Security Forces Squadron. "You can rent a camper Friday, return it Monday and only get charged for Saturday."

Along with equipment, you can also rent outdoor recreation facilities, which consist of a pavilion, sand volleyball court, tennis court, horseshoe pit, and softball diamond. For more information on Outdoor Recreation, call Mrs. Shirley Messner at (412) 474-8245
