In November, the Pittsburgh International Airport Ambassadors will hold a grand opening ceremony for the Airport's Military and Family Courtesy Center. This new center, located just past Gate A4, will provide a private area for members of the military to relax before leaving on their next flight. The center will provide work stations, a spot to watch television, and an area to spend with their families.

Currently the Courtesy Center has been open on a trial basis, providing light snacks and serving as a respite for our military personnel. The response has been tremendous and perfectly summarized by a soldier from Meadville, Pa.: "Thank you. I have always known Pittsburgh and the surrounding communities to be very patriotic. I had wondered when the airport would acknowledge the efforts of military service men and women, but more importantly our families. Last year, when I had to say goodbye to my children in the terminal departing for Iraq the lack of privacy was painful. Thank you for this!" The Military and Family Courtesy Center was constructed by ACAA Facilities Maintenance
employees.
