H. Rochelle Stachel is the President and Founder of HRV Conformance Verification Associates, Inc. Founded in 2003, HRV provides worldwide construction management and inspection services and has often been recognized as one of Pittsburgh's Fastest Growing Companies, having grown from two employees to nearly 200. Rochelle's business acumen and leadership capabilities have been acquired over twenty-five (25) years of vast experience in industrial engineering, project management, and software development. Although her professional accomplishments are many, it's her passion and contribution to the community and that has established her reputation as a serving leader.
Rochelle is a devoted supporter of her community and has found unique and successful ways to volunteer and contribute through many community and industry organizations, which are too many to list. However, her passion for our country's Active Service Members and Veterans must be emphasized. Rochelle serves on the PAACC as their Military Liaison, co-chair for the Military Affairs Committee, and on the Honorary Commanders Committee, participates in the Military Affairs Council (MAC) which started the "Save the 911th" initiative, led the effort for the Shepherd Heart Building Hope Project to build a community kitchen for the homeless and homeless veterans, and, as the Vice Chair for Southwestern PA ESGR (Employer Support for the Guard and Reserves), Ms. Stachel educates employers on the USERRA laws and regulations, promotes veterans employment, and provides mediation. Her reverence for our country's Service Members is also exemplified through HRV's Veterans Recognition Program. This includes showcasing the company's veterans through HRV's Wall of Valor, a companywide recognition ceremony on Veterans Day, company and employee donations to Sharing and Caring who organizes a Labor Day Weekend Riverboat Cruise for hospitalized veterans and Operation Troop Appreciation, who sends care packages overseas to those who are deployed and also supports Service Members coming back from deployment through their "Welcome Home" program.
Rochelle has been recognized and honored many times for her accomplishments. Rochelle was honored as a Smart Business Pacesetter in 2013, which recognizes outstanding business and community leaders who have made a significant impact on the region and its future. The Pittsburgh Business Times' Business Women First Award, honors the top women executives in Pittsburgh. Rochelle was awarded this recognition in 2013. Rochelle was named Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year® in May of 2012 for the Western Pennsylvania and West Virginia region in the Construction industry. This award recognizes entrepreneurs who are focused on innovation, new-market expansion, have an optimistic outlook on the future, and are continuing to hire. In 2007 Rochelle was one of twelve recipients of the Pittsburgh Business Times' Diamond Award which honors Pittsburgh's top CEOs and company presidents of emerging and established companies.
HRV was ranked as the 15th Largest Women-Owned Firms by the Pittsburgh Business Times in 2015. HRV received the Small Business Excellence Award in 2007 given by the Pittsburgh Airport Area Chamber of Commerce. The Small Business Excellence Award was given to HRV for the tremendous growth that it earned in the first four years of business. In four short years HRV went from a start-up company with huge dreams to a multi-million dollar operation that had far exceeded those goals and dreams. HRV was also recognized as the top professional services/consulting firm in the Pittsburgh area.
Rochelle's success is undeniable, but she'll be the first to tell you that "...no one achieves anything alone." Thankfully for our community, Rochelle has not only participated actively in giving of her time and talent, but she has fostered a culture of service in her company and employees, perpetuating the qualities of charity, selflessness, and giving.
