Colonel Clifford W. Waller is the is commander of the 911th Maintenance Group, Air Force Reserve Command, Pittsburgh International Airport Air Reserve Station, Pennsylvania. As the maintenance group commander, he is responsible for supporting a fleet of C-130 aircraft and their worldwide joint service mission. The group consists of two squadrons and a group support staff that perform activities to include both on and off equipment aircraft maintenance, management oversight, and logistical support. Trains, prepares & deploys personnel and equipment supporting Air Expeditionary Force tasking's. Major deployments and mobilizations during Operation El Dorado Canyon, Desert Shield, Desert Storm, Enduring and Iraqi Freedom.
Colonel Waller enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1978 as an Airlift/Bombardment Mechanic. He maintained several types of aircraft: KC-135A/Q/R, RC-135, EC-135, C-130 and SR-71. He progressed through several positions during his 12 years culminating as a noncommissioned officer in charge of the Maintenance Operations Center. He graduated with a bachelor's degree in Aviation Management and Computer Science. He received his commission through the Direct Commissioning Program at March Air Force Base, California, in 1989. He holds a master's of Business Adminstration and Aeronautical Science. Additionally, as a Maintenance Officer and commander he has led maintenance activities on C-130, C-141, C17, C-9C, and C-40C Aircraft.
During his civilian career, he has been in executive-level positions with major consulting firms as well as with a major aerospace manufacturing corporation.
